Yamo Lates is a public participation format conceived and launched by Nathalie through her work at gowithYamo. The initiative was designed to address a simple barrier: many people who are curious about art do not feel comfortable entering traditional gallery spaces during standard opening hours.
The programme offers free, after-hours access to exhibitions alongside informal talks, social formats and curated routes, creating a more welcoming entry point for first-time audiences.
The first edition in London delivered up to a 500% increase in partner gallery footfall and engaged a significant proportion of first-time visitors. A subsequent edition was delivered in collaboration with Turner Contemporary in Margate.
Yamo Lates demonstrates how modest structural shifts — timing, framing, and access - can materially change who participates in cultural life. It continues to inform Nathalie’s broader work on audience development and inclusive cultural infrastructure.
